Dino Fossils

Last week the Kinders made dinosaur fossils using salt dough. They could choose if they wanted to make 2 smaller fossils or one big fossil. They could choose if they wanted to make a body fossil or a footprint fossil. Then we waited for them to dry and painted the inside part of the fossil with a silver shimmer paint.

Today we watched a youtube clip: 

We learned and talked about paleontology. Then, the students were given a cookie and a worksheet and acted like paleontologists. Their job was to gently get the chocolate chips (we pretended they were dinosaur bones) extracted from the cookie without breaking them.
